On April 30, 2025, the College of Education at National ChengChi University (NCCU) hosted Professor Tan Ooi Kiang, Deputy Provost (Education) of Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, for a distinguished lecture titled “Transforming NTU Education in a Rapid-Changing Global Higher Education Landscape.” The event was opened with welcome remarks by Associate Dean Professor Joy Hu and was attended by around 50 students from various NCCU colleges, along with over 30 faculty and students from Sacred Heart College, Philippines, who joined online. Professor Tan shared NTU’s innovative practices in reshaping university education, including the implementation of the Interdisciplinary Collaborative Core (ICC) Curriculum, the design of next-generation collaborative classrooms, and the integration of Learning Analytics and Generative AI to enhance both teaching and learning. He emphasized that universities must adapt to the changing educational landscape by not only embracing cutting-edge technologies but also fostering strong mentorship and cross-disciplinary skills in students. Professor Tan’s talk underscored the importance of creating real-world learning experiences, such as mandatory industry internships, to better prepare graduates for the future. The event highlighted NCCU's commitment to global academic engagement and the continuous evolution of higher education.
